


Flour, Family, and Resilience!
When someone in our family was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, we didn’t mope — we rolled up our sleeves and got busy reimagining our favorite family recipes so everyone could still gather around the same table. What started as a simple act of inclusion quickly grew legs. Word spread, and before long, Bakehouse Creations — our fully gluten‑free dedicated kitchen — turned into a real business. As more people found us, our menu grew right along with them, one flavor and one cherished memory at a time.
Nothing lights us up faster than someone saying, “You know what I really miss…” Oh, we love that. That’s our cue to bring a nostalgic favorite back to life.
Then came the year — yes, a whole year — of people begging for “normal” cookies. (We were baffled. You couldn’t taste the difference!). Eventually, we threw our hands up and said, “FINE. You win.” To keep the chaos contained, we launched The Cranky Cookie Company — because if we’re going to give in, we’re at least going to have fun with it. And before anyone starts clutching their pearls: yes, our gluten‑free kitchen is still completely separate and absolutely safe. Cross‑contamination? Not happening. We’ve got you!
Our Grandma’s love language was baking, and we were lucky enough to grow up watching her in her element. She’d be up at 4AM, apron tied and coffee brewing, making cinnamon rolls and donuts for the early birds at her coffee shop. Later, her treats became legendary at YMCA Camp Fitch — sweet memories tucked into every bite. We’ve held onto her recipes like heirlooms, adapting them through plenty of trial, error, and love.
what's new in the Kitchen?
After a string of unfortunate events in my family and friend circle, I finally stopped and asked myself what actually brings me joy in baking. I mean, if you’re going to jump through all the hoops — getting certified by Ohio’s Department of Agriculture as a commercial home bakery, running a dedicated gluten‑free kitchen, paying for insurance — you better be having fun.
Anyone can make a gluten‑free cookie. Seriously. But raising the bar with bold, crave‑worthy flavor combinations? That’s my passion. That’s what lights me up.
So… here we are. New look, new attitude, same obsession with flavor. Don’t panic — you can still order the classics. All the new flavors have been thoroughly vetted by my Tasting Crew, and every now and then I’ll share their reviews of whatever wild idea I’m testing next.
I hope these new creations bring you even a fraction of the joy I had making them.
